Ronald J. Stempien, Owner/President

Ronald J. Stempien graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1964. Licensed since 1966 he has been active in the operation of the Stempien Funeral Home while going on to have a career with the Aetna Insurance Company of Hartford, CT, earning an MBA from UCONN and a Juris Doctoris from Quinnipiac Law School. Although Ron practices law full time, Attorney Stempien is a funeral practitioner and participates in the daily operations of the funeral business. He is joined by Pat Stempien, Ron’s wife of 47 years, who manages the business side of the Funeral Home and assists in the care giving and service of a family oriented business. Ron is a life-long resident of Meriden. He is an active parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, a member of the American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association, is on the Board of Directors of the Curtis Home, a life member of the Meriden, Elks #35 and a member of the Legion of Honor of the Polish Falcons of America. Ron is an avid NY football Giants fan, enjoys traveling, walking the great outdoors, reading and especially spending time with his “best buddy” his grandson Patrick.

Jeffrey M. Rynaski, Funeral Director

Born in Waterbury and raised in Meriden, Jeffrey attended Francis T. Maloney High School, Central Connecticut State University and the New England Institute in Boston. He served his apprenticeship with the Thomas E. Fitzgerald Funeral Home, which operates the Yalesville and Wallingford Funeral Homes and worked there for 23 years. Jeffrey has been with the Stempien and Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Homes since 2005. He resides in Middletown with his wife Nicki.

Suzanne Stempien O’Rourke, Apprentice Funeral Director

Born December 26, 1966 in Meriden, Suzanne was a graduate of St. Stanislaus School, Mercy High School and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst from where she received her BS degree in Hotel, Restaurant, Travel, Administration or HRTA. Suzanne was employed for the Interstate Hotel Corporation for 15 years working in various hotels all over New England before relocating back to Connecticut in 2005. She graduated Briarwood College with an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science in 2006. Suzanne resides in Portland, CT with her husband Michael and son Patrick. She is a parishioner of the Church of St. Mary. Suzanne is also a lifetime member of the MidState Auxiliary. An avid sports fan, she follows the UCONN Huskies, Boston Red Sox and NE Patriots. Suzanne enjoys CT & MA beaches, shopping, skiing and especially spending time with her family.
